Summer Camps 2020

As provincial restrictions are relaxed to allow day camps for children, we plan to re-open our facility and offer in-person summer camp programs in accordance with the Stage 2 guidelines announced by the Province. We have implemented many new policies and procedures based on the guidance provided by the federal and provincial Ministry of Health to create a safe environment for our staff, children, parents, and customers. Tricks with Bricks staff and supervisors continue to monitor and assess the situation closely to ensure all recommended precautions are followed.

COVID-19: Summer Camp Health & Safety Guidelines and Procedures

Thorough Safety measures will be taken to minimize risks at our summer camps. The followings are a summary of theses measures:

  1. Camp sizes are limited to maximum of 8 campers with two instructors in the facility.
  2.  Each campers receives their own workstation (desk, chair, robotics set, tablet/laptop, LEGO set and STEAM materials) labelled with the camper’s name for the duration of the week.
  3.  The free play stations with loose LEGO blocks have been removed to minimize the possibility of cross-contamination between campers; each camper will receive his/her own bucket of LEGO for the week.
  4. Physical distancing is enforced at all times, with a distance of at least 2 meters between each workstation.
  5. Lessons and activities have been modified in order to promote social distancing.
  6. Staff will disinfect all technology and equipment, surfaces, and LEGO at the end of the day; tables and other commonly contacted surfaces are sanitized regularly throughout the day.
  7. Staff and campers sanitize hands on arrival, breaks, lunch, and end of day.
  8. Families that have traveled within the past 2 weeks are screened at start of camp.
  9. Campers are screened for symptoms upon arrival everyday, which will be recorded on the sign-in sheet placed outside.
  10. Staff  keep daily records of anyone (e.g., camp participants, staff, and essential visitors) entering the facility who stays for 15 minutes or longer; records, including their name, contact information, time of arrival and departure, and screening completion will be kept up-to-date and available to facilitate contact tracing in the event of an unlikely confirmed COVID-19 case or outbreak.
  11. Only registered campers are allowed in the studio; visitors and general public are NOT allowed in the facility.

ThemeAgeDescription
STEAM Camp
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math)
4-12 yrs oldWe need the next generation to have a rich understanding of STEAM to have a creative and innovative mindset. STEAM builds on creativity and stimulates the mind to think outside the box, and our children will guide the world to a better place with their innovations and ideas. During this week campers work on five different STEAM stations; Science (Exploring science based projects), Technology ( Building/coding robots and programming games ), Engineering (Engineering of machines and structures), Art ( Story making/Comic books and Animation), Art, Technology & Math (2D & 3D design and printing).
Minecraft Creation Camp
(3D Modeling & Printing, Art & Technology)
7-12 yrs oldFrom organs to houses, machinery pieces to prostheses, 3D printing is revolutionizing the world. 3D printing presents a challenge, but one with a recognizable reward. During the camps, we present them with a different theme to design around each day, and we print their favorite for them. This allows them to practice their skills for the whole week and take home their own creation at the end!
We also use the incredibly popular game Minecraft as a medium to help kids build their skills such as coding & 3D design. We leverage kids’ interest in Minecraft as a gateway to introduce them to other STEAM topics such as Robotics and Coding.
LEGO® Camp
(Creativity, Team Work & Critical thinking)
4-6 yrs oldWhat about having a week of endless fun & innovation and be sure to have a week full of creativity and laughter? Children are welcome into an inspiring and creative environment to challenge their imagination and creativity for a full week of Fun Camp. Campers build based on a daily challenge using over 20,000 LEGO® bricks. Themes may include: LEGO® City, theme parks, mazes, Star wars, Friends, Minecraft and more. The amazing LEGO® creation will stay on the display area for parents at the end of each day. You’ll be amazed at what your kids create within a team setting.
Make Your Own Mechanical Toys Camp
(Engineering, Coding & Math)
4-12 yrs oldIn a world where technology and engineering surround us at every corner, we need to make sure that our children are prepared with the necessary skills to adapt and learn about the world around them. This week students learn the fundamentals of STEAM with an emphasis on concepts of energy, materials, and movement. With hands-on activities and an innovative curriculum of simple and powered machines, they will learn how to make different mechanical toys.
Robotics & Coding Camp
(Technology, Coding, Engineering, Science, Math)
4-12 yrs oldDuring this week, campers will have an opportunity to expand on their knowledge on how to utilize and control a variety of robot components and discover how they tie in to a fully functional robot. They explore both the design and programming of hardware and robotics engineers!
Harry Potter Camp
(Art, Team work, Creativity)
7-12 yrs oldCalling all Muggles and Wizards! Immerse yourself in the fantastic world of Harry Potter. During this expressive arts camp you will design and make your own unique wand, brew yummy butterbeer, create a Deatheater mask, grow a Mandrake root, participate in a Triwizard Tournament, attend a potions class and so much more!
LEGO® Camp
